Springhill Suites by Marriott Chambersburg

The contradictory information from staff, poor compensation, and a charge for a reservation I asked to cancel for the following weekend made this a deeply frustrating stay. I'm a loyal Bonvoy member and expected much better communication and service. I was offered 800 Bonvoy points, which is about $8, for a miserable night. I thought they had said 8,000 points. I stayed October 24-26, and the night of October 25 two wedding parties took over the lobby. The noise was unbelievably loud, even in Room 128 with the door shut, and I couldn't sleep. At 10:30 p.m. I called the front desk, expecting quiet hours to start at 10, but was told they didn't begin until 2 a.m. I questioned that, called again around 11:15, and sent a complaint through the Bonvoy app. Nothing changed, and the noise went on well past midnight. Running the bathroom fan was the only way to partly drown it out, but then I had to leave the lights on, and they shone through the glass door into my eyes. It was a miserable night, not a real solution. The next morning another employee told me quiet hours do start at 10 p.m., directly contradicting what I'd been told. Do not stay on the ground floor. I won't return, and there are many other area hotels that respond to concerns and emails. I hope management takes this seriously, because the experience fell far below Marriott standards.

I spent five days here and would come back. The service was good, the breakfast was nice, and parking was ample. There's a gym, indoor pool, bar, and small restaurant, with shopping plazas right next door.

I'm a Gold member with Marriot and am very disappointed by how I was treated. I left items in my room, got different information about them, and was then told they threw away more than $150 worth of products. They said it was policy and took no responsibility.

The breakfast included several healthy options, and the gym was well equipped. There’s also a small pool. The rooms were modern and thoughtfully laid out, and the beds were comfortable. Everything was clean.
