Best Western Plus Champaign/Urbana Inn

The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, though the pillows were lumpy. I left my own shampoo and conditioner in the truck, and theirs did the job, but the conditioner was watered down, so bring your own. Breakfast was the usual hotel spread. They seemed kind enough to let homeless people come in for something to eat. The elevator looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages, and I wanted to wash my hands after touching anything. Also, I couldn't understand the man at the desk. The location is handy, close to shopping and restaurants.

We spent three nights here and had a great stay. The staff were friendly, the rooms spotless, and breakfast was good. I'd recommend it to friends and family.

I booked the wrong night by accident and called the property as soon as I noticed. Neither they nor Expedia would help at first. Reaching an actual person at Expedia was difficult, and the man I spoke with had an accent I struggled to understand and couldn't make the simple change I needed. It was an honest mistake, so I was really disappointed with both Expedia and the hotel. I figured I'd stop considering Best Western. Update: they refunded my stay.

For a quick overnight stop on a road trip, this was fine. The room, breakfast, and amenities were pretty standard. I especially appreciated the front desk attendant, whose name I unfortunately forgot. He got us change for the washers and dryers, then let me know I'd left something valuable behind and helped me get it back. Great service.
