Metro Chandler Extended Stay

My wife left immediately and asked the front desk for a refund. At first, the woman there said we had to request it through Expedia. I’d booked the room, so I called Expedia while driving to Tempe with our family in the van. Their representative said the hotel decides based on the room’s condition, then called the hotel and came back after about five minutes. He said the desk staff could approve a refund, but since it was the weekend we’d have to wait until Monday for the manager. They kept my $130 for a room that was in awful condition. We’d only wanted somewhere to stay for a couple of hours while planning a family outing, since my wife works away from home. I don’t know the area well, but this did not feel like a safe location. I’ve stayed at Extended Stay hotels in other cities and this wasn’t what I expected. The online photos showed a renovated, inviting room, and I appreciated getting the door code on my phone for contactless check-in. That was the only good part. My wife arrived first and found old, worn furniture with broken parts, a strong mold smell, and a room that didn’t look clean. It seemed as though the bed had been made with the previous guests’ linens, and the pillow was filthy, as if someone had just been there that morning. There was no way we could stay. I rarely leave reviews, but after booking just two hours before seeing the room, I thought they’d be considerate. Don’t come here. It wasn’t clean or safe, and I don’t believe this was an actual extended stay.

After finding two roaches on the last night, my husband and I didn’t even want to shower in the tub. We were looking for a quick staycation, but the first room had so many problems: the tub was filthy and the couch looked as if a dog had been on it without anyone cleaning up. The replacement room seemed a little better and at least we could sleep there for a while, though it smelled awful too. I get that it was meant to be a quick stay, but people should still be able to sleep comfortably when they’re spending their hard-earned money.

They respond quickly when you call, and the prices were truly the best around. Nearby, there are excellent dining options and salons, a dog park about a mile away, and doctors’ offices conveniently located too. The atmosphere felt peaceful and professional, and the staff were exceptional. Outstanding experience, a fantastic place to stay.

There was no hot water in the shower, the sink leaked, and the fridge was noisy. I couldn’t get help from the front desk or any service staff, and there were no extra towels or trash bags. The desk directed me to the number in my booking email. Calling it put me on hold for over 45 minutes, and the call center got nothing done. I demanded a refund but didn’t get one because I’d booked through a third party. Basically, you pay for the room and have to figure out where to buy towels, toilet paper, and soap yourself. We’ll never stay here again.
