San Palacio

We were happy here for a long time, which makes it sad to see how gross and unpleasant living here has become since we moved in in 2018. There's no improvement, despite how patient we've been. Services keep disappearing, supposedly to “add more value” or “help our community,” and the front office has completely closed to walk-ins. A roach problem started in March, but management dragged things out. I had to keep asking for pest control, and it took two months for the five-week infestation treatment to even begin. For the poor communication, service, and living conditions, they offered a carpet cleaning coupon. That cleaning is already supposed to be included when renewing your lease. They just do not care. Residents leave trash bags on stoops for days and don't clean up after their animals. The luxury premium is a scam: this isn't luxury, and many amenities are partly broken and left that way because they technically work. On one walk around the pool with my dog, I saw so much trash and dog poop scattered around. All these images are from that one loop on one day.

I like living here, and the residents are chill. The staff have been good and prompt with inquiries, and maintenance has been great in my six months here. The upgraded front gate works, and the Butterfly app has been working well for opening it for guests and deliveries, as well as keyless entry to the gym and pool. Four stars feels like a step in the right direction, but Mark Taylor could add to the luxury experience. Google Fiber was just laid in this area, so it should be available now or very soon, with its unusually fast speeds and reasonable prices compared with Cox and Verizon.

Seth came to my rescue when my AC went out, driving all the way from Maricopa at 4 am to fix it. The staff, especially Kris, are understanding and always willing to help. Maintenance requests are handled within 24 hours, and I've had no issues in over a year. The apartment is great apart from the carpet, which I hate, though I understand carpet is required on the second floor for soundproofing. The amenities are fabulous, especially the gorgeous tropical pool. I've never seen police activity in the complex, which matters a lot to me. This is by far the best community I've lived in. I appreciate the staff and all they do. Mark Taylor Apartments are the best!
