I mainly needed somewhere to sleep for one night with a pool, and the room was clean and looked fine. Staff also cleared the litter from the pool area and made sure there were towels, which I appreciated. The rest of the property felt dated and run down, though, and there was a strange smell in the hall that had me worried the room might smell too. I was ready to leave if it did. The weekday breakfast was just donuts, yogurt, and bagels, so I took coffee and water back to my room. Breakfast is described as included, but the hot eggs and bacon are only served on weekends. I heard another couple upset about that and saying they'd have booked elsewhere if they'd known. For what I paid midweek, the property and what's included didn't feel worth it. At a lower price, it would've been fine.

We got in late before a competition, so we put up with the room until morning. It smelled odd, the door frame wobbled, and there were holes and several stains on the sheets, comforter, and curtains. The chairs and bed skirt were ripped and stained too. The bathroom was filthy, with mildew in the grout, rust around the door frame, grime in the corners, and a clogged, noisy vent. There was a makeshift toilet paper holder with a large hole in the wall behind it. I even checked to make sure there wasn't a camera hidden there. The towels and bedding were in awful shape. Our keycards never worked properly. Each time I needed to get back in, the desk either told me to wait or offered to come fix them, but I still had to go downstairs and ask to be let into my room. I left a note on the door asking for fresh towels, without a Do Not Disturb sign, and came back to find the note on the floor inside and the door opened. We hadn't received towels. The next morning another couple asked if we'd heard noise during the night. We had heard a little, but we arrived so late that I was mostly asleep. They told us someone had been shot and died on our floor, and said they were going to check out and ask for a refund. I waited to see if the front desk would tell us what happened or how they'd make sure the building was safe. No one said anything. The staff were young women, and it seemed like the owner was absent. More than once, things weren't being dealt with during a shift, and I was asked to wait for the front desk person even when another employee could have helped. This was the worst hotel experience I've had for cleanliness, honesty, and how the property treats guests. The place was atrocious. Guests deserve better, and so do the employees who have to represent it. They need to maintain and update the property and stop misrepresenting its current condition.

The staff were friendly, and I had a quiet, comfortable stay in a clean room. It came with a desk, Wi-Fi, a good-sized fridge, a microwave, and a hair dryer. The shower had good water pressure, too. Coffee and breakfast were provided, and there was an outdoor pool and jacuzzi.

The room was okay, but I couldn't get the coffee pot fixed. I asked the staff three times in three different ways, and nothing changed. Also, the good egg breakfast shown in the pictures is only on weekends. The weekday continental breakfast is subpar.

The rooms were clean and welcoming, and the staff were great. The building is clearly old, especially the elevator, though the rooms still feel fairly modern. I only have a few minor complaints. The shower head in my room was clogged with calcium deposits. It seems like an easy, inexpensive fix: take out the blocked jets, clean them, then swap them with the remaining clogged ones. The hot breakfast advertising was a little misleading. I've visited twice, a few months apart, and both times there were empty hot trays in the dining room. The only hot food was toast and waffles. They had ketchup and hot sauce, but no food to put them on. There were waffle makers and space for the trays, so why were the trays empty? There were three coffee pots, two labeled caffeinated and one decaf. The caffeinated pots had vanilla and hazelnut coffee, not regular. Since they also had flavored creamer, I don't get why the coffee was flavored too. Not everyone wants flavored coffee. I hope they either stock the hot trays on my next stay or stop putting them out empty.
