Rodeway Inn & Suites Charles Town

From the hallway into the room, the smell was awful. The rooms clearly aren't well kept or cleaned, either. There was old hair in the shower, mold in the jets, and the shower curtain looked like it hadn't been changed in months. The beds were hard. I've stayed at plenty of Choice hotels as a diamond member, and this was by far the worst. I won't be back, and I'd avoid it.

I checked out within an hour. The sheets hadn't been changed, there was hair in them, and behind the bed I found a chewed-up, nasty cup with something inside that looked like it had been there for months. Dog or cat hair was all over the room. It was just disgusting, especially with my newborn and girlfriend there with me. The property is falsely advertised: they say you'll be in the main hotel, then take you across the parking lot to a motel. I arrived expecting a nice place for us to stay while in town and was truly disappointed. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

My dad ended up staying here for about a week unexpectedly after walking here from the hospital. He's older and going through cancer treatments, and the women on staff checked that he was eating and doing okay. They treated him like family and showed him so much compassion. He specifically mentioned Kelly, Virginia, and Misty. Their care helped me feel more comfortable until we could come get him, and he was thankful to every one of them. Thank you all.

The bar and being close to the casino are the only positives. Several rooms had problems: blood on one room's sheets, plastic wrapped around another room's smoke alarm, an insect in a bed, and a door handle that fell off. There's also a lingering marijuana smell about half the time you're in the hotel. Staff, from ownership to the desk clerks, were rude and bad at their jobs. The clerks laughed off my concerns and didn't seem to care. The best they offered was 50% off one night. Disgusting hotel. The bar is the only reason I'd come here.
