Budget Host Inn Charleston

They came into my room while I was asleep in my nightdress, before checkout, without even knocking. Then they charged $100 to my card, saying I’d spilled water on the floor. I didn’t spill anything. Even if I had, that much for cleaning up plain water makes no sense, a towel would do. There weren’t any towels in the room anyway, so bring your own. After that extra charge, I’m staying away. Don’t come here.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The desk clerk was rude, and there was no free Wi-Fi or 24/7 staff, despite what was advertised. The bathroom was dirty, the shower walls had mold and mildew, and the room smelled moldy. I also found spiders, and the walls were cracking. A horrible stay.

The room was pristine, the bed was really comfortable after a day of hiking, and the river view was quiet and peaceful. This was the best room, service, and area of my vacation so far, and the price felt fair. The owner or the guy working there was one of the friendliest people I’ve met in a while. I’d gladly return if I’m in the area. Highly recommended 👌

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and parking was right outside the door. Getting there from 64 was easy. I’d accidentally booked a smoking room, but the owner kindly switched us to a non-smoking one without charging extra. He was so nice, and even called after we’d settled in to check that the room suited us. A very nice stop on our drive home from Virginia.
