We loved celebrating our anniversary here and would absolutely come back. The hotel’s history and classic atmosphere made it feel unique, and the staff knew so much about its past. We enjoyed hearing the stories. Our room even had a fireplace in both the bedroom and bathroom, which was fun. The nightly wine and appetizers were a nice extra and gave us a chance to mingle with other guests. Service was impeccable throughout. Circa 1886 was fantastic too. Breakfast there was amazing, and dinner was wow.

We spent a lot of time reading by the working gas fireplace in our room. It was lovely and practical, and surprisingly quiet. The room also had coffee and espresso, a stocked mini-fridge, a separate jetted tub and shower, L'Occitane bath products, and robes. At turndown, they left a card with the forecast for Charleston and back home, a thoughtful touch. There are several pleasant places around the mansion to sit and talk or read, and the TV had lots of channels plus mirroring for streaming from personal devices. We had booked the basic East Wing room and were upgraded to a Mansion Room because of my Hilton status. The mini-fridge had Coke, DC, water, and sparkling water. Other included extras were made-to-order breakfast at Circa 1886, evening wine and hors d'oeuvres, morning pastries and coffee, and valet parking. Breakfast was as good as Circa 1886’s ratings suggest. It’s served only to hotel guests in the morning, with pastries, fruit, and an entree choice. Regular drinks and coffee were included, while espresso and alcohol cost extra. Check-in came with a mansion tour and an explanation of the amenities. The staff were attentive and helpful, and we enjoyed talking with them. During a snowstorm, they handled things well and clearly explained the schedules for breakfast and the evening reception. Wentworth Mansion has been on my bucket list, and the stay was incredible. I can’t recommend it more highly, and hope to visit again.

The staff, food, and mansion all deserve five stars. They treat you like royalty and seem to have everything covered. Wentworth Mansion is an amazing place to stay in Charleston. I’d give it a million stars if I could, and I’ve already booked my August trip!

Bryan made our stay memorable with a tour of the house and all the stories from its past. Lisa, Bryan, and Tristan were a huge help in making the visit special, and the house is charming. We had an awesome time and will be back.

We had our wedding reception meal at Circa 1886, then spent two perfect nights at the hotel. It’s a memory we’ll cherish for the rest of our lives. Tristan gave us the warmest welcome to the city. Wishing him a wonderful new year. We’ll return for anniversaries.
