Zero George Street

The location is handy, around a 10 minute walk from most downtown spots. We used Uber at night without any problems. Each day there was complimentary wine and charcuterie at 5 PM, and you could sit in the gardens or courtyard. We stayed in an Anson suite, which was wonderfully oversized, with a separate vanity room for getting ready. It had carafes of water, a Nespresso machine, and a white noise machine. There was also a huge semi-private patio where we ate breakfast each morning. The bed and linens were incredibly comfortable. The service was top notch, and every staff member was friendly and accommodating. They cleaned twice a day, and evening turndown came with fresh baked cookies, fresh water, earbuds, and slippers. So many things had the hotel logo on them, which made the details feel intentional. We booked the caviar bar and could order one item from the tasting menu. Everything was so good that I can’t wait to come back and try the tasting menu. Best stay I’ve had anywhere. The property is stunning, and I highly recommend it.

Breakfast in the garden was a ritual I loved: homemade granola, fresh pastries, and coffee that made me want to linger. The rooms had character and light, with carefully chosen details, from linen bedding to vintage-inspired lights. Dining at the restaurant was seasonal, creative, and full of soul, an experience that rivaled Michelin stars. The courtyard smelled of jasmine, the wooden floors creaked, and the city moved slowly beyond the gates. Inside, the southern charm and quiet elegance made it feel like time had paused so I could rest. Service was warm, discreet, and personal. Everyone seemed to care about my comfort without overdoing it. I’ve stayed in many beautiful places, but Zero George is in a category of its own. It felt like a perfectly written story I didn’t want to end, and like a feeling I’ll carry with me long after leaving. The best hotel in the world, Zero George, Charleston.

Louisa and Rachel deserve a special mention for the excellent service from the moment we arrived. Staying here felt like being transported back in time, in the best way. If you’re exploring Charleston’s historic attractions, the location is very convenient. Zero George is a great choice for true southern hospitality and exceptional dining.

The staff were amazing, always smiling, pleasant, and ready to help. From check-in through check-out, the service felt worthy of a five-star hotel. I absolutely can’t say enough about this place and highly recommend it.
