The smell on the third floor was awful, from the hallways to the rooms and stairwells. I had to buy air fresheners and keep refreshing the room with sprays during my stay. I chose the hotel for its proximity to where I needed to be and the advertised continental breakfast, but there wasn’t any breakfast, just a badly written apology. I also needed several replacement keys because the door handles were faulty. The employees were nice, but that’s about the only positive. Zero out of ten.

The room was poorly cleaned. The table was visibly dirty, there was hair stuck in what looked like soap scum on the bathroom floor, and mold above the shower. The hallway smelled like curry mixed with smoke, and the room had an even stronger scent of spray covering other odors. The elevator had its own unpleasant smell. The sheets seemed clean and the bed was fairly comfortable, but a king bed came with only three tiny pillows, more like twin bed pillows. The shower drain was so slow that my toes were underwater right after I turned it on. Check-in was silent and awkward. The representative didn’t say two words, and after about three minutes of silence handed me one key with the room number written on it. I think she may have quietly said the number then. At 10:53 a.m., seven minutes before the 11 a.m. checkout, someone who might have been a manager pounded on my door to ask if we were out. The app advertised continental breakfast, but a sign at check-in said it was no longer offered. They apparently couldn’t even provide a box of mini packaged muffins. Given the cleanliness, I wouldn’t have wanted hot food anyway. I booked through the Wyndham app because the reviews looked decent, but I definitely wouldn’t return.

The free shuttle was the best part, although it didn’t show up on time in the morning. I paid $75 for a last-minute room after my flight was cancelled. As a young woman traveling alone, I didn’t feel safe. My door wouldn’t close softly and had to be forced shut to lock. I didn’t trust the deadbolt, so I wedged a chair under the handle and rigged another makeshift lock between the handle and closet. A loud group in the lobby at 11:30 p.m. could be heard from my room, and someone rattled my doorknob shortly after midnight. The hotel was dated, dingy, and falling apart. My room smelled of smoke, the toilet seat was loose, and one bed had makeup stains, though the rest of the room was generally clean despite being old. I wouldn’t book it for a vacation unless I expected to spend almost no time in the room. For a one-night delay or cancellation, it’ll do.

For a last-minute stay after our flight was cancelled, this was completely adequate. We paid $84, and the hotel was seven minutes from the airport. The shuttle times didn’t work for us, but our Ubers were very cheap. We left before breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. The building is dated and dingy, but it didn’t get in the way of our stay. Everything was clean and tidy, though a bit worn. The room smelled like smoke, the kind of smell you remember from the 90s. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the room temperature was good. The woman who booked my room by phone was so nice, and the front desk staff were pleasant at check-in and checkout. They were the nicest people I spoke to all day. We stayed despite the bad reviews and didn’t run into the issues described. I wouldn’t choose it for a vacation unless I planned to barely be in the room, but for a flight delay or cancellation it worked well, quick and easy.

The free airport shuttle and the location close to the airport worked for me this time, since I booked mainly for parking and transport. I couldn’t find cheaper parking or transportation than what I paid for the room. Still, I’d only stay here again in a serious emergency. It’s a very basic economy room in an old building that’s quite an eyesore when you arrive. The room was clean overall, with good sheets, towels, and bathroom, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. All the lights worked, but the fixtures were broken, old, or worn. I didn’t feel comfortable sitting in the upholstered chair because it looked very dirty. Staff were okay, not rude, but not especially helpful or friendly.
