Homewood Suites by Hilton Charlotte Ballantyne, NC

The kitchen staff were especially helpful and went above and beyond, particularly YSABEL & KARINA. The front desk was great too, and the staff overall were amazing. They offer free beer🍺, wine🍷, and snacks on Wednesday. I loved my stay at this Hilton and will definitely stay here again if I come back to Charlotte NC.

Emma at the front desk helped sort out a mistake with my reservation when I arrived for a business trip. She was hospitable, kind, and funny throughout the process. The hotel and room were both nice, spacious, and clean. I'd recommend staying here.

The rooms were a nice size and breakfast was great. Emma and Dazmen gave us excellent service. Emma handled everything with a lot of grace and was one of the best front desk attendants I've experienced. Dazmen responded to our concerns promptly and did the best he could.

The room was clean and everything worked, but I was assigned a wheelchair accessible room without asking for one. The shower and TV angle made the layout awkward. I'm not usually one to complain, so I just dealt with it. My car was broken into on the first night. The window was smashed and valuables stolen. I had parked right by the main entrance, thinking it would be safest. Discovering the damage just before a business meeting I had to attend made an already bad situation worse. When I reported it at the front desk and asked them to call the police, the response felt indifferent. The police said I had to call myself, so I did. More than one staff member made it sound like break-ins weren't unusual there, which surprised me. I hadn't seen many recent reviews mentioning them, so I hadn't expected this. I had to leave the car unsecured for the rest of the stay in very cold weather because local glass repair shops were all booked. Now I have a six-hour drive home with a broken window. Between the hotel bill, repairs, and stolen items, it turned into an expensive trip. Hilton's automated “how is your stay going” text arrived that same day. I rated the stay low and gave a time after work when I could talk. They asked if I could be available earlier because that time didn't work for them, and then I never heard back. I know hotels aren't legally responsible for vehicle theft, but when incidents happen regularly, visible security would help guests feel more at ease. I had picked this Homewood Suites again because my first stay was great, and I'm a Hilton Honors member nearing Diamond status. After this experience, I won't stay at this location again.
