Oak Ridge Hotel and Conference Center

The only snag was dinner noise. We’d planned a quiet meal after a long day of flights and travel, but didn’t know there was a prom in the restaurant. We found a very nice dinner in the bar, though the dance three floors below made it loud enough that we had to talk over it. Back in our room, we couldn’t hear it anymore, and had no issue with the room itself. I was a hotel guest, and the motel was excellent. The staff were friendly, and both the room and property were kept clean. Despite the noisy meal, we still had a very nice evening.

Really liked the location, design, and employees. It’s a distinctive place, the staff were extremely nice, and our rooms were very clean. The room felt a bit cramped, though. I probably would’ve known to expect that if I’d done more research, so that surprise was my own fault.

I was here for a two-day business meeting, and I’ll recommend we find somewhere else next time. The employees were wonderful, but the rooms need basic maintenance and an update that fits the building. The scenery was gorgeous, but the room was disappointing. There was no hair dryer, microwave, or refrigerator, and you’d find those at a Motel 6. The double beds felt spongy, and the pillows were the sort you can get at Wal Mart. The carpet was sticky, the walls were cracked and peeling, and parking was a long way from the entrances. That faded-glory feeling wore off within about an hour.

The conference center works really well for large groups, and it’s set well back from the road, with woods and walking paths around it that give the place a secluded feel. The rooms were nice, and the whole stay was beautiful, classy, and exceptionally quiet. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to help.
