Homewood Suites by Hilton Chattanooga - Hamilton Place

A large truck tends to park in front of the hotel between midnight and 3 a.m. When the driver backs up, the warning beeps wake everyone. Other reviews have mentioned it, and it’s not good. For the price, though, the hotel was very good. My room was clean, service was good, and check-in around 9 p.m. went smoothly. The bed seemed old and unsupportive on the bathroom side, while the window side felt firmer and less worn. My key didn’t work at the gym, and there was a line to ask for help, so I gave up.

We were very comfortable during our stay while waiting for our new-construction house to be finished. The room felt like a small apartment, with a separate bedroom and living area, which made the extended stay work out perfectly. The kitchenette had what we needed to make a small meal and included a medium-sized refrigerator. The front desk staff were so friendly and kind.

The hotel was nice and met our needs, which makes this billing mess especially frustrating. I booked one night, then needed to move the date. The hotel sent me to an “escalation team,” and they emailed that they’d review the request and reply. Since we needed the room the next night, I called again, but was referred to the same team. I tried once more when we were two hours from the hotel. This time, the clerk changed the reservation and assured me the original date was canceled. I checked again at check-in and was told the same thing. We stayed on the adjusted date and paid for it, but a few days later the escalation team denied my request and charged me for the canceled date. I disputed the charge with my credit card company, and I won’t stay at Hilton hotels again.

Elijah at the front desk was amazing and helped with all my questions. I had a wonderful weekend, and the clean room looked just like the photos when I arrived. I’ll book again on my next visit.
