Quality Inn Near Walden Galleria Mal

The hospitality was missing from several staff members, though there were a few exceptions. People come to hotels hoping for a little warmth and empathy, and I found the experience really disappointing. The older woman at the front desk was nasty, as was the older woman in housekeeping. The manager was the rudest of all. You'll unfortunately have to deal with them, but if you can steer clear, there is endless coffee and juice, at least. The whole place had the same bitter, stale energy as those particular staff members. They whisper and talk about you as if you can't hear. Wouldn't recommend it.

The staff were great, and the beds were good. It's in a quiet neighborhood, centrally located, about three miles from the galleria via I-190. The pool was closed the whole time I was there. Breakfast was short on protein, with Jimmy Dean's sausage egg croissants and yogurt. The room might have been five stars back in the grungy '90s, but these days the carpets need a steam clean or replacing. Good, just not excellent.

The staff were nice and let us leave our bags behind the front desk while we explored the city before heading out. I was going to give the hotel three stars until I found a cockroach on the bed. Luckily I spotted and killed it before going to sleep. The place is outdated and needs remodeling. The room smelled musty and stale, the carpet was old and stained, and the bed runner had stains and hair on it, so it clearly hadn't been cleaned. When I booked months ago, the reviews were much better. I'm not sure what changed.

The room was spacious and clean, and the location was great, about eight minutes from downtown. Staff were friendly. The pool stayed closed during our three-night visit. Breakfast was cereal, toast, and bagels, and coffee and tea were available 24 hours. I'd stay again and recommend it to a friend.
