Cherokee Lodge

The location was nice, with a few things within walking distance, but our room didn't feel clean at all. The kids' feet were black after walking on the floor. The bathroom was outdated and badly repaired. The pool stayed green the whole time we were there, so the kids missed out. I booked based on the reviews and don't know what rooms some of those people were getting.

My wife found this little place on our way to Cherokee, and we loved it even though we had no reservation. The rooms are dated but really clean. I booked a smoking room and called down to make sure they'd given me the right one. It didn't smell of smoke and didn't have a lot of burns. Everyone in the office was super nice. Be sure to pet the amazing, lovable cats! There are beautiful mountain views and a short walk to the creek for fishing. We'll definitely stay again. Thanks for making my wife's first time such a wonderful experience.

It was a good hotel to stay at, and they handled the problem right away. I called many times between 7 p.m. and our late arrival to let them know, but no one answered. On arrival, reception was closed, with a notice saying nobody would be available before 8 a.m. After ringing for a long time, a woman came out and seemed unsure whether we had a reservation. My card had been charged and the bills were ready, but it seemed they'd forgotten we were coming to stay. I'm taking it as a human mistake.

I'm giving three stars because the customer service was great, but our stay from Friday to Sunday was concerning. We had several rooms, and everyone had the same kinds of problems. The rooms were very outdated, with dust and spider webs everywhere. They weren't cleaned properly either: dog or cat hair was on the comforters, in the tub or shower, and embedded in the carpet. The AC needs to be replaced and updated ASAP. We didn't know what it was blowing into the air, and that felt scary. Some of us got sick. One family member had a nosebleed that lasted about 30 minutes; another had vomiting and headaches, and I had headaches and trouble breathing. We only found out what everyone else had been going through after we left on Sunday. We won't come back. I hope you take this seriously and fix the problems.
