We turned on the light and found roaches covering the walls, floor, and bed, hundreds of them. The bed looked like it had come from a dump, and the supposedly white sheets under the comforter were dark brown with what looked like other guests' sweat and body fluids. We asked for a refund right away and slept in my truck instead. The person working there was extremely rude and unprofessional. I honestly don't understand how this place can legally stay open. Anyone who has had a similar experience should consider reporting it to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC).

I stayed here for a while in the past, but this time the staff member was rude. My wife is disabled, and when she needed to use the bathroom at checkout, they refused to let her. I also didn't have much money. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It's a roach motel.

For a weekly stay with children, I wouldn't choose this place. We paid about $300-$330 a week, and the price depended on who took payment when we arrived. Without a car, the location is bad. They charge around $55-$65 a night too, apparently depending on the day, if you're staying day by day or working out of town. That might suit someone who doesn't mind addicts, prostitutes, meth smokers walking around talking to themselves, being asked for cigarettes every ten minutes, or rarely sleeping well. The building had a serious roach problem despite regular spraying. In warm weather the drain flies got so bad that we ordered packs of fly strips, and neighbors started asking us for some. The toilet often wouldn't flush because the water pressure was poor. Our hollow bathroom door had a long slit across the middle, patched with tape and painted over, and it kept sticking until it eventually fell apart. We had a stack of new P-TAC units in view, but ours stopped working months before we left. They gave us a heater. Both the owner and a woman who worked there said they'd replace our broken P-TAC with one of the new units, but neither did. Noise made it hard to sleep. People partied through the night, we were woken up a lot, and then we got blamed for the party mess. I also saw homeless addicts searching the dumpster for things they'd hidden, and going in and out of the camper on site. One told me he'd broken its sliding door. Messes around the camper and dumpster were often blamed on two of the roughly fifteen children playing right there. As supposed proof of mischief, I was shown a video of four boys wrestling with a fence post that was lying loose in a grassy field. I started walking around the building every morning with a cigarette and comparing how things looked before bed and after waking. Rocks and fireworks thrown at the building, key scratches on several cars, broken glass, and other things that happened overnight were always blamed on us. The women of the night would rifle through bags of clothes and shoes, take what they wanted, and toss the rest. Still, I was told that the large pile of women's clothes hanging over the dumpster and trash outside it came from my two boys taking out the small motel trash cans. We only occupied one of the motel's 30 rooms. There was also a time the owner argued with a guest who wasn't paying. While they were arguing, the neighbor's boy rode a bike we'd given him, left it by my car, and the owner saw it and said he wouldn't renew my rent. The guest who regularly cursed at him was always allowed to stay, and the boy was allowed to stay too. A week later, after I'd packed everything to leave, the manager said we could stay. The day after I made about my 30th non-refundable weekly payment of $330, a woman worker came to my door around 5 p.m. She said my boy had broken a window, we had 30 minutes to leave, the police had been called, my payment was forfeited, and I owed half of the $1,400 damage bill. She claimed they had proof. The video she showed was of another boy breaking the window, with my son nowhere in sight. They let that boy stay, though later she was overruled and he had to leave too. For the next four hours, I stuffed our belongings into Hefty bags and into my car, which wouldn't start, while trying to find a ride and work out where my two kids would sleep. The whole time, the woman kept asking things like, "You're not done yet?" and "How much longer?" The police never came to speak to me. The only time I saw her fail to force a smile was when I told her the owner said we could take as long as we needed.

We only booked room 106 because we needed somewhere to shower while our well water was being fixed, but my child asked to leave as soon as they saw it. We didn't sit down or shower. The tub had a dirty ring and filled up while the shower ran because it wouldn't drain. It was probably the cleanest thing in the room, and my child still wouldn't use it. When we opened the door, roaches ran under the bed. There was one in the freezer too, along with spilled stuff. The floor was filthy, the sheets badly stained, and the only towel was stained and nasty. The sink had a pubic hair glued to it. There were missing light bulbs, and something beside the nightstand looked disgusting. The bed itself looked so dirty that I can't imagine sleeping there with roaches all over you. I've never seen a hotel this unsanitary. I'm sending the pictures to the health department. Please don't rent these rooms to anyone.

We just wanted an inexpensive room for one night, but there were bed bugs all over the floors, ceiling, and walls, so the bed wasn't even the only concern. When he gave us a refund, he acted as if this happened all the time. If you've seen the place, get checked. I'd absolutely stay away.
