Both rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely simple, and I was glad they didn’t have carpeting. I stayed just one night, 11/13/2025 to 11/14/2025, to split up a long drive home. The first room looked out at the neighboring building’s balconies, so I asked Caleb at the desk if there was one facing the bay. He took time to consider the available rooms and found me a lovely one with a balcony and a beautiful bay view. The water and sunrise were amazing. I’d stay here again if I’m passing through the area.

Lori helped organize our wedding welcome drinks and really went above and beyond. We’d planned to gather on the cafe boardwalk in late October, but the night turned out colder than expected, and she agreed to move us inside to the mezzanine. The renovated space looked gorgeous and kept our guests comfortable. I didn’t stay at the hotel, though many of our wedding guests did. We had a great time, and it was a perfect start to the wedding weekend. I’d gladly work with Rod n Reel again.

The beds and pillows were the best I’ve ever had at a hotel. CBQ and 1936 were both fabulous, with great food, awesome service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful, and happy. Convenience stores were an easy walk away. I highly recommend Rod 'N' Reel Resort.

The dinner and band were very good at the New Year’s Eve celebration, but the party was missing signature cocktails and snacks. We paid extra for dinner beforehand, while many people came just for the party. There were desserts, but not enough, and no chips, nuts, or other snacks on the tables or anywhere else. For the price, I expected more.

The rooms are nice and the views are beautiful, but for more than $300 a night I expected better attention to detail. There was no trash can or water in my room, the wedding shuttle never showed up, and nobody was at the desk when I checked out. It doesn’t feel like resort-level service.
