Red Carpet Inn and Suites - Cheshire

We've stayed here for years when visiting family over the holidays, but this may have been our last time. The rooms lack basic items like a luggage rack, bathroom tissues, and a hair dryer. There was black mold around the bathroom fan, too. When I asked the front desk for a luggage rack, they ignored me and said maybe their practices had changed. (?!)

At checkout, they called with 30 minutes left to remind me of the time, then the front desk guy and a cleaner stood outside my door until I left. The room had felt dirty all over, and I couldn't relax. I'd rather sleep in my car.

I only spent a few hours here, from November 16 to 17, but the check-in stuck with me. The receptionist kept telling me, “please don’t break anything,” and even used a translator to say it. I've stayed in plenty of hotels and have never had staff say that to me. It left me feeling singled out and uncomfortable. Honestly, it came across as stereotyping and unprofessional, and I couldn't understand why it was said. I was left wondering if I was being treated differently because of how I look. Every guest deserves basic courtesy and respect. I hope management addresses this.

An older motel, but it's been kept up well and the rooms were very clean. It was affordable and in a convenient spot for visiting family nearby. The beds were a bit stiff, though still sleepable.
