For seeing Millennium Park, Grant Park, and Buckingham Fountain, Arlo Chicago worked really well for me. I got a great rate through booking.com and had no trouble paying through a third party. The location on Michigan Ave is excellent, and public transit makes it easy to get around. There’s also a restaurant onsite, though I didn’t try it. Security seemed well thought out. There isn’t a first floor bathroom open to just anyone, and you need your room key to reach the second floor bathroom or take an elevator up. The elevator can be a bit finicky, but I think most people will figure it out after a couple of tries: hold the room card to the sensor and press your floor almost right away. Antoine and Bryce were helpful. Antoine’s smile made dealing with my luggage a joy. They also offer texting as an alternative to calling or visiting the front desk. Replies weren’t always fast, but it’s a nice choice if you’d rather text. My room wasn’t perfectly spotless, though the cleanliness was good enough. I was pleased with the stay.

The staff were kind and responsive throughout my stay at Arlo Hotel, and as a solo traveler I felt secure there. Everything was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I mentioned that I was celebrating my birthday and was upgraded to a Millennium King with floor-to-ceiling windows. The city view was beautiful both during the day and with the lights at night. I didn’t rent a car, so the central location mattered a lot. I could walk to several Downtown spots, including Millennium Park, the Art Institute, Nutella factory, River Walk, and Chicago Theater. The CTA Blue Line was also handy for getting to and from Chicago O'Hare. For that location, I thought the price was great. I didn’t eat at the restaurant downstairs, but hotel guests can get discounts there and at the bar. They also stored my bags for free on my last day when I had a later flight. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I really enjoyed the experience and would love to stay at Arlo Hotel again when I return to Chicago.

I was here for work and had a great stay. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the large bathroom had really good water pressure. Housekeeping came daily and kept everything neat. Guest services also checked in before I arrived, and when I said I’d forgotten my toothbrush, they left a toiletry kit in my room. Everyone at the front desk was lovely, especially Holden, who was very kind and helpful. I’ll stay here again on future business trips.

The location is the one real plus. We spent around $2,000 for a special occasion weekend and came away feeling like the money was wasted. If you’re celebrating something, don’t expect the hotel to make it feel special. We were on the 17th floor, but the view was basically of the building next door, and noise woke us several times overnight. They should at least offer disposable earplugs. The daily amenities fee felt completely unjustified. For $35–$40 a day, the perks were two cans of water and 15% off their poorly rated restaurant. I’d have rather bought water at Walgreens and eaten somewhere else. We had to contact the front desk repeatedly for fresh towels and the water we were supposedly entitled to, and the room service line didn’t work, it redirected to the restaurant. The employees we dealt with were kind and professional, but the experience was still disappointing. I don’t understand how this is considered a 4-star hotel, and regret not booking somewhere with more value for the price.

I’ve stayed at Arlo several times and will definitely come back. The rooms look nice, the pillows are amazing, and the bed is always comfortable. Nakila was warm and kind when she checked me in, and Holden was great at checkout too.
