I appreciated the hotel’s security rules: rooms are limited to four guests, everyone staying must be registered and wear a wristband, and you can’t get back in without one. The location is great, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed, though the pillows were terrible. If you stay and don’t plan to leave the hotel, I’d use the breakfast voucher. Would I return? Probably not. Once was enough for me. I booked a New Year’s Eve staycation through Saturday and would rate the hotel 3 out of 5. I asked for a higher floor, but was told the highest available on arrival was the eighth. It was chaotic, with guests arguing and fighting. I asked to switch rooms and floors, but was told I’d have to wait until the next day because there were over a hundred checkouts. Thankfully, they honored the request and moved me to the 25th floor. The view wasn’t special, but it was peaceful and made me much more comfortable. The menu could use more variety, though it was manageable. There’s a restaurant and bar on the first floor, or room service if you want to avoid crowds. It comes with an extra 40% charge, which I didn’t understand. I ordered BBQ, and it tasted like a hot dog.

Water from the shower spread all over the room because there was no shower door and the bathroom fan barely worked. The bed area got damp, and there were puddles near the windows. That’s unacceptable at this price. My girlfriend also accidentally left her North Face jacket behind, but when we called shortly after checkout, we were told it wasn’t there. That was frustrating. The experience at the Eurostar Magnificent Mile was disappointing from beginning to end. Before we arrived, several questions went unanswered, and when I followed up, I got the runaround instead of help. At best, the hotel feels a step above a Super 8. I wouldn’t return or recommend it. There are much nicer hotels in the city with better service, rooms, and basic functionality.

I’d stayed here many times for work and had our wedding after-party on the roof back when it was Vertigo/Dana Hotel. This was my first visit since the hotel changed names. Not much seemed different, though there may have been fewer staff when we arrived. Our flight was canceled, so we booked rooms at the last minute. They were clean and just as good as I remembered. The restaurant was the big surprise. It’s changed a few times over the years, but the food was amazing. Breakfast and dinner were both so good that we ate breakfast there every day. A great stay overall.

The best part of this hotel is its location at State and Erie, near everything and two Red Line stations. My partner and I came from the NW burbs for a downtown weekend getaway. The hotel is new, nice, and clean. Our room on the 25th floor was a little small but nice enough. The bathroom barn door didn’t close all the way, as other reviews have mentioned, and the balcony wasn’t open, presumably because of the season. It’s a decent hotel in a great spot.

The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the location is amazing. The price was very affordable compared with other nearby hotels. The room was neat and clean, especially the bed and shower, though the flooring showed some age. The bathroom and waterfall shower were great, with hot water coming quickly even on a cold day. It felt refreshing. The restaurant was closed, but that didn’t bother me since I wanted to explore the area and try different food. I could hear every movement in the corridor very clearly, so the doors could use better sound insulation. I also think higher-quality shampoo and body wash would improve the experience.
