Ginosi 747 Apartel

Now called 747 Lofts, this place feels a little below average, as if a house flipper had designed it. The neighborhood is great and very walkable, with a relaxed Italian pub across the street and a pharmacy and grocery store nearby. The full-size fridge was a plus too, and contactless entry was convenient, though I did wonder what you'd do in an emergency with no staff around. There wasn't much space to set things down, especially in the bathroom, which had no shelf or counter space for cosmetics. There was barely room for clothes and other basics either, making it hard to settle in for several nights. When we arrived, the room was hot; turning on the AC made the whole place smell like old food. I cleaned dust out of the filters myself. The towels, linens, and visible surfaces were clean, but everything else felt dusty and dingy. I also would have felt safer with a deadbolt, since the door only had a key code.

The neighborhood was fun, and the Blue Line is just a one-minute walk away. The apartment was updated and very clean, and the shower was fantastic. Big Shoulders Coffee is right by the station, and D'Agostino's is next door for pizza. Parking was the main hassle. It's street parking on a narrow road, though we got lucky and found a spot beside the building not long after checking in. The bed was low to the floor and only so-so for comfort. Those two issues aside, we had a great stay.

Getting around was easy, with buses and the subway close by and downtown reachable in about 20 minutes. The apartment had the basic amenities, including a washer and dryer, and it was well maintained. Staff were very friendly and management was great. Self check-in and check-out were hassle-free. A good choice for tourists, especially families.

The room was modern and clean, and I'd stay here again. The location is handy, within a few miles of most tourist spots. My first-floor room had no outside-facing window, just one looking onto a brick opening. The bed also felt a bit hard.
