Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown/N Loop/Michigan Ave

Quiet, basic rooms at a great price, plus a very good breakfast. The location is excellent, and the front desk staff are outstanding, cheerful, helpful, and friendly. V during the day and T in the evenings went beyond what I expected to make my stay more comfortable. Hampton Inn Downtown will be my first choice when I visit Chicago again.

The location is great and the staff were very nice. Breakfast is complimentary and pretty much what you'd expect at another Hampton, nothing special but not bad. The hotel itself needs updating. The treadmills didn't work, there were no free weights, and I could hear water moving through the pipes in my room all night. The heater made an awful, loud noise the whole time, making sleep really difficult. Water pressure was decent, especially for the 13th floor, but I don't think I'd stay here again.

I really appreciated the front desk staffer V. She was always there, kind, and patient. The room had two drawbacks. Once the sofa bed was opened, there were only about four inches to squeeze past its end to get to the bathroom. And every night, between midnight and 2am, dumpsters were moved in the alley right outside our window. The noise kept us up for quite a while.

We arrived early and expected to leave our bags, but the front desk found a room for us. Thank you, Diante! The staff were friendly, and breakfast was nice too. The lobby is beautiful, and breakfast is free from 6-10am. Everything was very clean and up to date. My only room complaint was a noisy air conditioner. I was too tired to move, though I'm sure they would've fixed it or changed my room. A great experience!
