Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport

Ryan the electrician was the best part of our stay. The power was out, and he immediately offered to help my aunt, who has mobility issues, get around. His hospitality deserves 5 stars. Ryan needs a raise!! The restaurant food was fantastic, too, and our servers were excellent and attentive. The hotel’s handling of the outage was deeply disappointing. We had no power from before 6pm until 2am, and they offered only half the points back. My aunt needs a CPAP, and her phone had to stay charged so her Dexcom could read her blood glucose before our long travel day the next day. We explained this, but they said there were no rooms with power, even though guests who asked after us were moved. It was also impossible to get basic help. Texting the front desk number got no reply. I asked about the airport shuttle and received “A team member will be with you shortly,” then nothing. Calling from the room just left us on hold until the call timed out and disconnected. We were extremely disappointed with the customer service and won’t stay here again.

After our flights were delayed and canceled and we missed a connection, we ended up spending a very long night at the airport because all the hotels were full. Just when we thought we’d finally be checking in, we found out we still had several hours to wait. We walked over to the Hilton to get something to eat, and I’m so glad we did. The food was delicious, and the staff were patient and accommodating with our daughter while she made up her mind. Ryan the electrician kindly gave us a coupon for the meal. He was generous and very kind. The short walk was definitely worth it, even if you’re not staying there. We would have stayed the night too, if a room had been available.

We missed our connection at O’Hare and got rebooked for the next day, so the hotel’s location was ideal for catching our flight. While we were having coffee in the lobby, Ryan, the electrician, came over for a lovely chat. He really wanted to understand our situation and insisted on making the stay nicer. He gave us breakfast and was great company. Ryan made a stressful day easier, and now we’re on our way to our final destination. Thanks!

This is usually a convenient place to stay, though it’s very dated. I checked in after a delayed flight on 3/6 and there was no power in the room. Nobody at the hotel seemed to know what was going on. The shower wasn’t working either, and trying to do anything in the dark was awful. The hotel had no fix for any of it.
