Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Central Loop

The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed, and the staff were kind and helpful. But the unexpected charges really soured the stay. I’d paid everything in advance through Priceline, then found out at check-in there was a $200 incidental hold that hadn’t been clearly explained. The hotel garage cost $75 per day, which adds up fast. My card was also charged another $102.60 at 2 a.m., and I still don’t know why. I plan to ask about it before checking out. It was noisy, too. Around 1 a.m. there was a loud situation in the hallway when guests seemed to be locked out of their room. Teens and young adults were also running around, so the halls weren’t peaceful. I understand that may not be fully under the hotel’s control, but it affected my stay and it’s not something I care for. The experience inside the hotel was pleasant, but the noise and unexpected costs made the total feel far beyond the value. In my opinion, nearly $482 in extra fees and expenses wasn’t worth it.

Clean and safe, but not especially quiet. I loved the modern rooms, and the public spaces were pretty good. The gym felt a bit cramped, though, and the bed seemed worn out. It wasn’t as soft and springy as beds at other properties. You can clearly hear conversations from neighboring rooms at times, so keep that in mind. The bar staff gave excellent service!

The hotel is right in central downtown Chicago, with easy access to all the important places and public transport. Service was courteous and friendly, and the room was superb, almost like a luxury suit. It’s one of the best Hilton hotels I’ve stayed at, and it’ll be my first choice when I visit Chicago again.

I was here for one business night. The room was clean, the staff were courteous, and the location is really convenient, right across from the Willis Tower. There’s no restaurant of their own, though. Staff sent me to the restaurant at their other hotel, Canopy, which is in the same building. I paid an outrageous $26 for a bagel and latte, so I’d plan to get breakfast elsewhere. There are plenty of options nearby.
