Erickson was so kind and attentive, checking that everything was right during my stay. When I ran into a problem after a stressful day, he was especially helpful, which I appreciated a lot. The house is lovely, with two nice spots to unwind, one indoors and one outside. My room was spacious, comfortable, and attractive, with an excellent private bathroom. Breakfast is self-serve and has plenty of tasty choices. It’s also easy to get around, with Thorndale station just a short walk away and a direct train downtown. I’d happily come back! 😊

The bathroom was completely private, and the place itself feels lovely and cozy. The host was friendly and helpful, and there was a great range of snacks and breakfast food. It’s become one of my favorite places to stay in Chicago. My only small suggestion is to have takeaway cups for coffee, but that barely matters next to how remarkable our stay was :)

The view was fantastic, and the room felt warm and welcoming. The owner was helpful and nice. I stayed in June, but wanted to come back and share my thoughts.

I had to cancel because the dates got mixed up, but I wanted to book again for later and was even ready to upgrade to the larger room. Instead, the owner stopped responding when I asked questions, then blocked me. Expedia tried to reach him too, and I also emailed, left a voicemail, and sent several texts without a response. I ended up contacting my credit card company to recover the supposedly refundable deposit. The advertised price wasn't what I was charged, and he asked for personal information that had nothing to do with my stay. This was unprofessional and cowardly. The property should be shut down. Response to owner: Wow, so you can respond after all? I did contact Expedia, and they made several attempts to reach you. Your failure to reply caused this problem. Keep telling yourself you run a great establishment. I’ll never know. Your loss.

The B&B is in a fantastic spot, and Erick was great. The stairs up to the rooms are worth knowing about if, like me, you have trouble with stairs. Once upstairs, everything felt fresh, clean, quiet, and private. Breakfast is help-yourself, with plenty available: my husband made scrambled eggs, and there were cereals, pastries, muffins, bagels, bread, juice, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, granola bars, and Pop-Tarts. We ate out on the deck down the hall on our second morning, which was lovely. If you’re bringing a car, you can ask in advance whether a garage spot is available for an extra fee, which saves dealing with the hunt for street parking. Since this was our first Chicago trip, we wanted an easy plan. We checked out, loaded the car, then drove to the garage I’d reserved downtown through the Spot Hero app, which I highly recommend, and took the noon Architectural Boat Tour before driving to a place with valet parking. No dragging our luggage around. We’d definitely stay here again.
