Ohio House Motel

Everyone was so kind, and the service was amazing. Our room was clean and nice, and the location was great, close to a Target, lots of restaurants, and other good spots. I’m glad I chose this place. I loved my stay and will be back.

The noise made it hard to sleep. The walls are paper-thin, the doors slam loudly and block almost no sound, and you can hear neighbors day and night. There’s also no temperature control in the room because the thermostat is outside. Good luck sleeping if you’re too hot or cold. The place says it’s non-smoking, but every room smelled like weed and cigarettes. I used to love coming here, but after this latest visit, I won’t be back. I booked and paid online for a king suite, then was told when I arrived that it was already booked. The general manager wouldn’t help or budge until someone in my group had a breakdown because they felt they’d wasted their money. We never got an apology and were explicitly told it was our fault. I felt very disappointed by the whole experience, and worried others might be charged for smoking when they hadn’t or get a different room from the one they paid for. I’d look for somewhere with better amenities and less scummy people running it.

The attached deli was a treat, and the office staff were really friendly. The motel was nicely heated, which I appreciated during a visit when the wind chill was below zero. The only drawback was that the shower took a while to warm up, though that may have been because of the freezing temperatures.

This was my second visit, and it was nothing like the first. The room felt like it was 20 degrees all night, so I couldn’t enjoy our anniversary at all. In cold weather, don’t bother unless you can get a room over the front desk building.
