Rodeway Inn Chicago - Evanston

Barbara at the front desk made me feel welcome and at ease each time I checked in. She was professional and kind, offered useful recommendations, and knowing she was working gave me peace of mind. I finally got to relax and catch up on the rest I needed. I expected little from a Rodeway Inn, but this location surprised me. What was meant to be a two-day visit became about two and a half weeks, and the room was much more comfortable than I'd imagined. It stayed clean, housekeeping kept up with it, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which was a lifesaver. I had a better stay than expected in every way and wouldn't hesitate to return. I highly recommend this location, especially for the service. Special shoutout to Barbara, she made my stay amazing and deserves more than five stars!

We got around by bike, scooter, train, and on foot. Reaching the city took 30-60 minutes, but it made for a great trip. Pretty great for the price, too, with no major problems.

They said they had forgotten my reservation, then wouldn't explain what was happening with the room or the service, even though they had already charged us. A woman working Tuesday was very rude. I asked to stay until 1 o'clock because my leg was injured and I couldn't walk well, and my boyfriend's back was hurt too. We ended up leaving at 1:45 pm. I needed to shower, pack, and get to work, and I already have trouble sleeping, but they showed no consideration when I explained. Then they accused me of taking advantage, put me on the do not rent list, and kept my deposit. The employees and service felt lazy, rude, and irresponsible.

They wouldn't give us a room because I had forgotten about the reservation, even after charging us. Nobody would explain what was going on with the room or the service. In the morning, they extended our time while we gathered our things, then complained about how long we'd taken. They refused to return the deposit, and when I went to speak to someone in the office, she wouldn't even open the door. The whole experience was the worst.
