The Emily Hotel

NaeBon and Brianna were a huge help with the wedding weekend details, from adding rooms to sorting out pricing. We're grateful they helped everything go smoothly for us and our guests. The Emily Hotel worked perfectly as our wedding room block and home base. Our out-of-town guests had a place to stay, and we heard only positive feedback. The rooms and shared spaces are beautiful, and the service was wonderful all weekend. Its location made getting to the rehearsal dinner and welcome party easy, and the wedding venue was a quick trip away. I especially loved having The Emily Suite for the bridesmaids to get ready. It was just right for hair and makeup and made the morning feel relaxed and special.

The front desk team was courteous, efficient, and kind. When I needed a few changes, they gladly went out of their way to help. Their thoughtfulness stayed with me. I had to add two days to my Chicago visit because my boyfriend was in the hospital, and The Emily Hotel took us in. Book early if you can, since last-minute rates can be pricey, at least around Thanksgiving. The lobby is bright and airy, with a good coffee shop. The Fora restaurant serves great food, and even though I was only waiting for an order, they seated me, brought over a small pitcher of water, and made me feel welcome. The staff there were attentive and kind. The rooms are minimalist, with everything you need and a bit of open charm. I liked having the sink outside the bathroom, which made it easier for two people to get ready or turn in. Our room looked toward the neighboring building, and sheers behind the curtains would have been nice, though privacy wasn't an issue. I liked The Emily a lot: simple, imaginative, comfortable, and full of kindness.

Gerard is the man! I felt taken care of by everyone, who went out of their way to make the stay easy and enjoyable. I'd happily come back and recommend The Emily Hotel to anyone visiting Chicago. The location is ideal for exploring Fulton Market and nearby neighborhoods, with restaurants and nightlife just steps away. The common areas are stylish, and the hotel has an upscale but relaxed feel. My room was modern, clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, and attentive.

The room was barebones, almost like an oversized kids' dorm: white walls, unfinished plywood furniture, and a tiny, very outdated Samsung TV. At least the minibar was stocked. Noise from the rooftop hotel bar carried through to the guest floors, and the nearby train tracks were loud at times. The bar itself wasn't busy, which was nice, and the drinks were decent. We started off disappointed before we even got to the room. Nobody greeted us at valet or helped with our bags, despite my request. My wife had to go inside and ask for valet. We'd also gotten an email before check-in offering a room upgrade, but when we arrived that wasn't available. For what we paid and where it is in the city, this felt like a cheap accommodation. I expected better service and a nicer room, and I'd have a hard time staying here again.
