The Godfrey Hotel Chicago

The bed was the problem. Its linens had lots of thin black hairs and one thick hair that looked like a pubic hair. I told the front desk, but they said they couldn't move us or clean the room because all the cleaners had gone home. They brought replacement linens and asked us to change the bed ourselves. They also took a photo of the hair on the bed and pillow. The rest of the room was clean, but one hair might be understandable, not several, including that thick one. We were tired and it was late, so after driving three hours for our early Christmas celebration, my husband and I cleaned the bed ourselves and stayed. We arrived at night, excited for an overnight stay to celebrate Christmas early since we both work on the holidays. The hotel has a nice location, a lobby restaurant, and a rooftop bar, but the bedroom windows face another building very closely, so there was no view. They charged a $20-24 resort fee. I asked whether the hotel had a pool to explain the fee after we'd paid for the room, and was told no. We paid $142.97 for one night, $200.97 including taxes.

The 11th-floor view was gorgeous, and the location was great. Our room was spotless and smelled fresh. The front desk employees were professional and helpful with anything we needed. They can also hold your bags before check-in or after checkout if you have a later flight. We had a great stay at the Godfrey and will be back.

The rooftop has a great vibe, and the hotel feels modern and stylish. Staff were friendly, though service wasn't always very quick. I didn't spend much time in the lobby, but it looked nice. Getting around Chicago was easy from The Godfrey Hotel because the location is close to everything. My room was clean and comfortable, with a nice bed, good shower, and decent amenities. Nothing especially memorable or extraordinary, but it had what I needed. It was a solid, no-frills stay. Valet parking is expensive.

My friend gave me a spa day for my birthday, and J, my masseuse, was amazing. She focused on the spots I mentioned and made sure I was comfortable. I highly recommend her for a massage. Go see her!
