The Neighborhood Hotel - Lincoln Park

We were traveling with three adults, three kids, and a dog, and the setup worked really well for all of us. The place was clean, the bedrooms comfortable, and the linens fresh. The shared space was lovely, and the kitchen had the basics we needed, along with a coffee maker stocked with coffee and a little creamer in the fridge, plus a tea kettle. The neighborhood was beautiful, with plenty of places to eat and a Target just down the block. We walked to Lincoln Park, North Pond, and the lakefront. The guestbook also had suggestions for meals and sightseeing. Getting in was easy: they texted us the building code on the morning we arrived. When a light fixture had a minor technical issue, I messaged late in the evening and heard back first thing in the morning. They arranged for a technician to come that day while we were out. Communication was easy and the response was quick. We had a great stay and would book again on another Chicago trip.

The room was gorgeous and very clean, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The management team was great about answering questions quickly. In Lincoln Park, there are lots of restaurants, shops, and coffee spots just steps away, and it took about ten minutes to walk to the zoo, Lincoln Park, and Lake Michigan. Such a lovely neighborhood. I had a wonderful stay at The Neighborhood Hotel and would gladly return. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

For a weeklong booking, the two extra rolls of toilet paper weren’t enough. I asked on two consecutive days for more to be delivered, but ended up buying some myself. I also noticed the area under the sofa bed and the air filters in the air conditioners hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. The linens seemed fine, though. The place was cute and reasonably priced, and I liked having a kitchen and washer/dryer. As an introvert, I appreciated that all the interaction was online.

The main downside was the road noise at night. It got pretty loud, though I travel with earplugs so we managed. Keep that in mind if you’re looking for somewhere quiet. Apart from that, it’s a good value in a great area, with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The two-bedroom apartment was well priced, and it gave us the feel of an Airbnb without a pile of cleaning or checkout instructions.
