We spent ten days at the hospital with a family member, and staying at The Neighborhood Hotel in Little Italy was just the break we needed. Our room was spacious, with a separate bedroom, bathroom supplies including shampoo, conditioner, and soap, an in-unit washer and dryer, and a kitchen with dishes and a good-sized fridge and freezer. There was a small issue with our first unit, but they moved us to another room quickly. They answered our questions fast and found a solution whenever we needed one. I’d recommend staying here if you need a place in the area at a very reasonable price.
Nights were surprisingly quiet and comfortable even though the neighborhood is lively, so it was easy to relax after being out. The Little Italy location has restaurants, coffee shops, and nightlife all within walking distance, and gives you that Chicago neighborhood feel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, more like a well-designed apartment than a standard hotel room. Everything felt modern, clean, well kept, and easy to access. I loved my stay at The Neighborhood Hotel and would definitely come back. It’s a nice option if you want something more personal than a big chain.
The apartment’s full kitchen and washer/dryer were especially useful on our longer visit, since we came back muddy from the snow. Everything was spotless, and the beds were very comfortable. The rooms are huge, basically a nice studio or larger. This was my third stay, and the first time I brought my family. It’s well placed for the University, the medical campus, and bus routes. We could walk to lots of good restaurants, and getting an Uber right outside the hotel was quick and easy whenever we needed one. I’d book again if we return to Chicago.
The shower was the one thing I’d tweak. Water gets onto the floor by the shower and wall, so you’ll want to put down two towels, and the shower head seems to squirt at you. Still, it did the job. Everything else felt fantastic, from the open, cozy, homey atmosphere to the cute view that made me feel safe. The room was beautiful and spotless when I arrived, and the bed was soft, comfortable, and so clean. Hotel beds usually give me major anxiety, but here I actually wanted to climb in. Check-in was great too. I’ve never given a hotel five stars before because most creep me out, but this one was a hidden gem. I loved it and will definitely come back.
I felt very safe because only guests with a code can enter the building, but I still wish the door had a physical blocker in addition to the digital lock. The room itself was quiet, the bed was super comfortable, and everything was spotless. I loved the interior design and the neighborhood was great. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. We were only there for a weekend, but I’d come back for a longer trip.
