The Wade

I liked the location, with lots of sites nearby, and my spacious room looked out toward Navy Pier and Lake Michigan. The lobby and bar area were nice. The room did feel somewhat dated, and I didn’t like that Wi-Fi wasn’t free. Even so, I’d stay here again on another Chicago visit.

The location is exceptional, the view was good, and the rooms were generally clean. A few staff members were nice, but the stay still fell short. The hallway lighting was very dim, and the shower pressure was extremely weak. There wasn’t a bathroom ventilation fan either. The included breakfast had a much simpler menu than I expected, the food was uninspiring, and the menu paper was greasy. Several valets lingering in the corridor also seemed dressed below basic professional standards, which took away from the atmosphere.

Fermin from engineering was incredibly helpful and knows the city well. I really appreciate his help and hope the hotel recognizes the amazing work he does. They should hire more people like him. Great job, Fermin! 👏 I’ll definitely be back soon.

The location deserves five stars, and the cleaning team led by Ms. Rosa did an eight-star job in my opinion. We stayed ten days as a family and had a great time overall, so thanks for hosting us. There were some surprises, though: no cellular service, overpriced food with poor quality and portions, and front desk service that didn’t meet the hotel’s standard. The management should get a larger, more modern microwave for residents. The tiny, dirty one should be thrown out.
