Union League Club Of Chicago

A Union League doorman, playing Paul Blart, tried to have my car towed while I was loading business supplies on Sunday. I’d parked for under five minutes in the loading zone in front of 312 Signs, down the street from the Union League Club, with my flashers on. He claimed the public street was “private property.” The attached photo shows where I was parked and where I wasn’t. Real nice neighbors.

The staff were friendly, and the rooms were large and comfortable. The facility has a distinguished art collection, plus excellent amenities: several restaurants, a library, a multi-story gym, and spaces for coworking and functions.

We stayed four nights for a wedding, with the ceremony, cocktails, dinner, and dancing. The service was great and the food was good. It’s a very old building with interesting architecture and art.

The location was good, and Jesus from the restaurant area deserves special thanks for being such a positive start to every morning. The bathroom was only moderately clean. Looking at the mirror, I wasn’t sure the cleaning cloth had been clean either. I could hear my neighbor’s phone conversation word for word, even though he wasn’t loud. I reported the noise to the front desk, but nothing was done. Flushing sounds carried through the room all night too. You can’t have everything.
