Villa Christina

I stayed with friends and we had a great time. The house is beautifully furnished and sits in a quiet neighborhood. Our host was kind, polite, and responsive. I’d recommend it and would stay again.

Scammer! See Chicago Police Report #JJ190455. Christina Young was awful at communicating. This VRBO had no merit: she took all the money before the stay and wouldn’t refund it. I’ve used VRBO many times and never had anything like this happen. It was March, with temperatures from 15-40 degrees in Chicago, and there was no heat or Wi-Fi. We called several times without getting an answer. She eventually replied through messages but did nothing to help. When we tried Xfinity, it said service was suspended because of delinquent bills. After we left for dinner, she changed the door code and locked us out of Villa Christina, with all our belongings inside. It was terrifying for my young kids. Four Chicago Police Department officers stayed with us for over an hour while we tried to reach her and VRBO and get our things. A sergeant noticed an upper back window was cracked, probably adding to the cold with no heat, and opened it so we could get in. She then accused us of breaking and entering, even though the police had recorded everything by audio and video as they helped us collect our belongings and leave the place as we’d found it. The whole experience was a mess. Don’t book here. She could take your money and lock you out with your things inside, as she did to us. I hope nobody else loses money to this scammer.

A real gem. Even though it’s in a busy area, this venue is on the quietest street around, so it almost feels like you’re in a different neighborhood.

We needed more mirrors and TVs. There was only one mirror, in the bathroom, and one TV. For four women, having just one bathroom wasn’t acceptable.
