That peaceful setting keeps bringing my mom and me back for a long girls’ weekend each year. The Williamson River runs right outside the back door, and we love the quiet and nature. Everyone we’ve met has been warm and welcoming. Treat yourself to a stay here.

We’d wanted to kayak together for years, but it never worked out until we stayed at the Lonesome Duck. Steve helped us get going, and soon we were paddling along the calm Williamson River. We could even have paddled straight to our riverfront accommodations. It’s an amazing place, and I don’t use that word lightly.

The log home was spacious, comfortable, clean, and quiet. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner; they leave a bar of soap in each of the two bathrooms. There’s no TV, so you’ll be spending time with nature, which is lovely here. We saw otters, beavers, and all kinds of birds, and had one of the most peaceful stays I can remember. Debbie, Amanda, and Mark were so kind and made us feel at home. I’d definitely recommend staying here. If you’re thinking about it, go for it, you’ll love it.

We loved our time in the cottage and would happily come back. The ranch sits right beside the river, and the owners were welcoming and accommodating.

The guest cabin sits right on the peaceful Williamson River, and our hosts were great. During our three-day fall weekend, 9/13-16/24, we celebrated a 70th birthday in fabulous weather. We watched otters, osprey, eagles, and rising fish. I also took a four-hour drift boat fishing trip with Guide Ryan Keelin, who was great. I hooked 11 fish and landed 8, with 5 over 22 inches, and lost 3 more. The best measured 24, 25, and 26 inches. The biggest was a 30+ inch, 12+lb Redband Buck, a monster for that river, and it took 10 minutes to land. Thanks so much, George Lundquist and Annie Burke!
