We enjoyed having such a small group on the Captain John boat tour, six people on our trip, and the boat looked like it could hold eight or ten at most. We visited a couple of places where all the boats were looking for ponies, then went to spots where it was just us and people fishing. We covered several different ecological niches, which increased the chances of seeing different wildlife. Captain John came highly recommended, and I can see why.

John’s pontoon tour around Chincoteague and Assateague islands was absolutely fabulous. We saw ponies and all kinds of waterfowl, and the best part was learning about the area. Great tour.

We’d booked a kayaking trip with our kids for a windy afternoon in late August. The owners suggested switching to a pontoon cruise, and that turned out to be a good call. It was a really nice trip, and the Captain knew just where to go.

We stayed two nights, took the sunset cruise, and rented kayaks. The cabins were cozy, had everything we needed, and felt very private and quiet. I was surprised we couldn’t hear the road or anyone around us. Being right on the water meant we could sit in the chairs they provide and enjoy sunrise and sunset. It’s family-owned and run, and you can tell they care. The perfect place to stay and kayak or boat in Chincoteague. We’ll be back for sure, and I can’t wait!

Captain John was a great guide and really knows the area. Barbara’s cottages were sweet, clean, and comfortable. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend it to anyone. Great place to stay and take a boat tour.
