Econo Lodge Christiansburg-Blacksburg I-81

The breakfast selection was pretty slim, and the decor is a bit dated. We were only there from 1am to 7am, so it would've been nice to get a discount for a six-hour stay. Still, the place was clean and cheap, the beds were very comfortable, and it was quiet enough to sleep despite being close to the interstate. We were passing through VA and might come back.

For a cheap stay, the room was spacious and had a mini fridge, microwave, and large TV. The bed was okay, and the gentleman at the front desk that afternoon was very friendly. The pillows, though, were super flat, and one tissue was all that was left in the king room. My family stayed one night in two adjoining rooms on the first floor, one with two queen beds and the other with a king. Both needed repairs, especially the king room. The faux wood flooring was buckling and curling as if there were water damage underneath. The bathrooms had no fan, which felt gross, and the caulking badly needed to be redone.

There was a misunderstanding with our reservation, and when I tried to sort it out, the staff showed no compassion and called the police as if we were criminals. The front desk clerk, Jessica, was rude, overbearing, forceful, and unprofessional. I felt threatened by her. While we were gathering our things, she tried to push her way into the hotel room. We're visiting from out of town for business, and there was no hospitality or customer service. Why Jessica is still employed is beyond me. I've never had such a bad hotel experience and will never stay here again.

The front desk clerk was hospitable and very nice, but the owner wasn't. Checkout was at 11, yet someone came banging on my door at 9:30. Then at 10:45, housekeeping opened the door while I was naked. Terrible hotel and hospitality. I wish I could give it -5 stars.
