The room smelled, had bare walls, and came with no amenities, not even shampoo or coffee. At check-in, the clerk made a point of saying I had a room overlooking the pool, but when I opened the curtain late that night, it was empty, peeling paint and just a little green water in the deep end. It looked like a place for mosquitoes. I paid $240 for a Friday during powwow weekend in Idaho, the most I’ve ever paid at a Motel 6. The next day I got a room at Best Western for $30 less, with nicer amenities: shampoo and soap, coffee, full breakfast, an indoor pool with water, and a comfortable bed. The pool here was disgusting.

There’s a bar and restaurant downstairs, and it wasn’t so busy that we had to wait for service. The remodeled rooms are nice. The other rooms could use updating, but they’re still clean and comfortable. A great hotel to stay at.

I stayed here long term on a work trip. The newer building was very neat, and my room was clean with quality amenities. The man at the front was amazing. I also met the manager during my visit and appreciated the effort he’s making to turn the property around.

My friends and I stayed one night, and our room wasn’t clean at all. There were cobwebs and dead bugs everywhere, so who knows when it had last been cleaned. I also found it creepy and weird that the man at the front desk handed us free vouchers to a local strip club. I’ve seen staff writing positive reviews, but any actual guest would give this place one star. For your own sanity, stay at another hotel if you’re spending the night in Pocatello.
