I stayed here in fall 2018. It’s a remote location, and the hotel does a great job handling the challenges that come with that. There was a power generation problem during my stay, but they accommodated everyone at what was arguably the best lodging in Valdez. I had a gorgeous room that worked for my family, and there were great services available. I wasn’t a Heli skier, and the business focuses on those guests. I don’t think it caters to other adventure communities, but my stay was excellent regardless.

We got in very late, after the kitchen had closed, but they reopened it for us. The restaurant was so cozy, and our room was awesome, with really comfortable mattresses, modern bathroom fixtures, and an unbelievable balcony view. A jewel in the middle of nowhere. We’re definitely coming back. ❤❤❤

The mountain lodge common area is beautiful, and the renovation there was done really well. The view is pleasant, and there’s free laundry, a library, and a fitness room with two bikes, though no treadmills. The rooms are very small, and you can see TV plugs but there are no TVs. For $250+/night, breakfast costs extra and nothing else is included except free parking. Reception closes at 10, there are no elevators, and dinner is good despite the limited selection. Overall, it feels like they were forced to open before everything was finished. The location is in the middle of nowhere.

The setting is beautiful, with Worthington Glacier very close by and Valdez about a 35 minute drive away. Our room was clean, the bed was super comfortable, and everything felt new and updated.

At $273.00 U.S funds for one night, this was way overpriced for a less than mediocre room. Rugs under the beds were awful and so dusty, and the room felt stuffy and hot with no fan or a.c. Both dinner and breakfast were either cooked wrong or completely wrong for both my husband and me. Getting coffee in the morning was a challenge, with everything empty or nearly empty, and what was there was lukewarm. Glad we only booked one night. It was not a pleasant experience, and we won’t be back.
