The Shamrock

Everything was well managed, from the quick, smooth check-in to the staff explaining everything clearly. The facilities were clean and modern. I'd gladly stay here again.

I spent one night in the penthouse, and it was a pleasant, peaceful stay. The inside of the rooms has a new look and was immaculate, clean, and nice compared with how it used to be. The penthouse kitchenette had pots and pans, a refrigerator, and a microwave. 10/10, recommend.

The first room smelled strongly of weed. I told the front desk, and he moved us to another room, but not before spraying the first one all over. That helped a little, then the smell came back. We were exhausted, so we stayed, but it was bad. I'd give the place five stars if it didn't smell so awful.

The neighborhood didn't seem like the best part of town, though I never felt unsafe. I only needed somewhere to sleep for two nights, and that's what I got, but I don't want to stay there again. Check-in was quick and easy, but the non-smoking room smelled so strongly of stale cigarette smoke it was like an ashtray. There was no TV remote, though the nice woman at the desk found one for me. WiFi barely reached my room, unless I sat right by the outside door, and the shower pressure was poor. I also heard lots of stomping from above, apparently where the owners live. Later that night I moved my car closer to the stairs outside my room. The new clerk, who hadn't checked me in, came out and yelled that I'd parked badly, even though I was between the yellow lines. I drive a small Kia Rio hatchback. He was parked in a spot that wasn't even a legal parking space. He apologized after I asked whether he wanted to check my new parking position. I was being facetious, but he had made me angry. Maybe he was having a bad day. All in all, not a great stay.
