Holiday Inn Express Cincinnati West

I’d recommend this hotel to anyone on the West Side of Cincinnati. Ej the Manager also gave a spot-on food recommendation for The Precinct, and any steak enthusiast should be satisfied. The staff were professional, courteous, and genuinely welcoming from the moment I arrived. After a long day of driving, I got exactly what I needed: a spotless room and very comfortable beds. Everything felt organized and well cared for, with real attention to detail. I had a great experience and enjoyed my time here.

The value is hard to beat, and I had such a good stay that I wanted to leave a review. Everyone on staff was pleasant and caring. Our room was clean, and I liked trying the new coffee machine Express is rolling out. Sandra at the front desk was the star. 😀

The sheets had blood stains, and the shower barely worked. On top of that, I booked a king room with a sofa suite, but Spencer the manager apparently changed it to a room with two queen beds. I had to call and get them to switch it back. When I left, I told the front desk my room number and that I was obviously checking out, walking through the front door with my luggage. They claimed they checked the footage and said I’d left after 1 PM, then charged me for another day. I called and spoke with Spencer, who apologized and said I should have talked to him about it, apparently because he can’t employ people who know how to do their jobs. I’ve never had such a horrible experience with a hotel company in 11 years of work travel. I’m taking my business back to Hilton Hotels. I’m done with IHG. Avoid this place!

12/16/2025... For the $800 I spent, I expected better. The room was a good size and the water pressure was decent, and we didn’t run out of hot water, so that part was good. But the coffee machine looked like it would have made me sick if I’d used it. The heat was inconsistent too. Even with the thermostat set to heat, it blew cool air half the time. It snowed on Saturday, and by Tuesday the parking lot still hadn’t been cleared, leaving an obvious slip hazard. If I visit Cincinnati again, I’ll probably stay somewhere else.
