Riviera Motor Inn

Roaches everywhere, a leaking bathroom, and nothing to buy for food or drinks in the lobby. I've been coming here since the 60s, and it used to be open 24 hours. Now who knows when anyone will be there? The room costs $90. Who would pay that for this dump? Holiday Inn and Days Inn are five stars for value by comparison. Go anywhere else.

I've stayed here for years because it's cheap, and I never expect much. But these renovations have brought a new kind of chaos. Who rents out rooms that are still under construction? There's a huge hole with debris falling out, and I don't feel safe peeing near it. Why install a fancy door that you have to lift just to slide along the track? The renovation feels like putting makeup on a pig.

There was debris all over the walkways to the room, and the beds were horrible. The place is under renovation, and I don't know how many rooms are available. Mine cost $91 a night. The rooms are old and dated, and smoking is allowed in them. They didn't even offer me a non-smoking room. The showers and bathrooms are old too. There was no cable or streaming, just analog TV with very few channels I could identify. I wouldn't come back until the renovations are finished. Right now, the place is a horror show.

The price is good given how limited walkability is. The interior is better than you'd expect, and the laundry room is a plus. I haven't seen much of the staff, but the people I have encountered are polite. I haven't been in the club. The wings are decent for the price.
