Clackamas Inn & Suites

We stay here a lot, and the staff always make us feel welcome and safe. They’re incredibly accommodating, and we’ve never had a bad experience with a room. The rooms aren’t especially modern, but they look and smell clean, and the bedspreads have never been dirty. We always leave feeling relaxed. A+.

The staff were helpful, laid-back people. The price was affordable, and they at least offer a small breakfast, which is more than some places do. But the room phone didn’t work, and the tub was pretty gross when I checked in.

The breakfast was pretty good, and the guy at the front desk was nice. But there was a big gap under the hotel door, and I found two strange-looking bugs. One was crawling on my chest. The water pipes smelled musty when the water came out, and visible mold was growing in the bathroom.

The tiny pool and uncomfortable beds made this a poor fit for our stay of several nights. A jail cell bed might have more cushion. The carpet looked so dirty and dingy that I doubt it had ever been deep cleaned. The handle on the accessible shower was broken and came completely off. There was also a huge gap under the room door, while the restroom door dragged so badly it was barely possible to close. The walls are paper thin, and the smells in the hotel ranged from feet to fish. The lobby smelled nice and clean, but the halls by the rooms stunk. The photos fooled us. This might work for someone staying a few hours, but not for us. Save your money and go to the Hampton Hotel across the street.
