I won't be coming back, even though I feel for the new owners. The place has clearly seen better days. At first the room looked mostly clean and was adequate, aside from some junk and stained pillows. Then I woke up to bed bugs. Every time I switched the light off, more crawled over the sides of the bed toward the blood stains from the ones I'd just killed. It wasn't only one or two. Disgusting, and it's going to be a long day 🙄.

We stayed here twice in one week. The first visit was fine, though the pillows were a little flat. On the second, we had booked a double on the ground floor, but the only double available when we arrived was upstairs beside a smoking room, and we could smell smoke overnight. The sink barely drained because it was clogged. The tub and shower were dirty too. I thought it might be a stain, but wiped the dirt off with a tissue.

The rooms are adequate, and the owners seem like good people doing their best. If you need a place to stay in Clarion, Iowa, I'd recommend it.

Clean, well-kept rooms and a breakfast that was limited but did the job. The new young owners have a vision for this little hotel and seem ready to work to make it happen. A great place to stay in Clarion!

I'm grateful to have a place to stay here instead of being out on the street 🙂. The owners are friendly and very helpful, and the price isn't excessive. I'll be staying indefinitely. There are a few small things I'd change. The biggest is the Wi-Fi, which is spread too thin to be usable. Still, nothing's a deal breaker.
