Hampton Inn Cornelia

The hotel was okay, though I didn’t feel it met the standard I expected from a Hampton. From other reviews, it sounds like there may have been a recent renovation. Most of my room looked nice, but the sink and shower seemed to be the old units, and a few things looked like they’d been skipped. The sink plunger was broken, though that wasn’t a big deal.

Monica made check-in easy and was so friendly. She gave us water and cookies she’d baked, which was thoughtful. The hotel was extremely clean and good value, and the morning staff were friendly too. It’s pet friendly as well. I’d definitely come back.

The complimentary breakfast is good, but the rest of my stay at this Hampton Inn has fallen well below what I expect from a Hilton property. Renovation is underway, and it seems construction workers and other people who appear to live there long term are staying on site. It makes the place feel more like an extended stay facility than a regular hotel. People smoke marijuana inside and outside, and the smell is persistent. One evening, construction equipment was left in front of my door, so I had to move it to get into my room. Housekeeping entered despite my Do Not Disturb sign. The nightly price also doesn’t match the property’s current condition or atmosphere. Management needs to handle the renovation better, enforce the non-smoking rules, and respect guest privacy. I can’t recommend staying here right now. Before booking, I’d check whether construction and long-term residents are still there.

The location was handy for getting to local restaurants and places to visit nearby. Our room and the shared areas were clean and nice.
