Candlewood Suites Clarksville by IHG

While house hunting last week, I spent two great nights at the Candlewood Suites hotel in Clarksville TN. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were wonderful hosts. The front desk also helped with my house search, pointing out useful things about the neighborhood and local schools. I try to choose Candlewood Suites wherever I travel because I think they're the best value around. Highly recommend.

The customer service was phenomenal, and there were several rooms to choose from. But the room itself was a letdown. The fixtures were rusty, the tub had a dirt ring, and there was a horrible burnt-egg smell. I cleaned the lamp with a Bobby pin and could see how thick the dust was. The tub cleaned easily, which made me think someone had just checked out and I was put straight into that room. I usually stay in five-star hotels, but nearby places were full. I was coming from Memphis and chose this Candlewood because the one off hacks cross used to be one of my favorite hideouts. I'm glad I travel with cleaning and disinfecting supplies, but I was very disappointed.

I come here at least once a month, sometimes more, and they always take care of me. When something's wrong with a room, they fix it or move me to another one. The first floor can get noisy, but never after 9pm. I've never seen bugs or been treated badly. They know me by name and phone number now. For the price and how clean it is, it's hard to beat.

The location is good, and the washing machines are free. That's about where the positives end for me. There's no breakfast, just coffee from a machine, and the gym is nothing like the picture. It's basically a treadmill like you'd have in a basement, sharing space with the laundry. They clean only once a week, not every seven days as the policy says, so I have to keep after them. I also have to ask at the desk for everything because they forget to bring it.
