Candlewood Suites Louisville North by IHG

I won't come back. The room and the rest of the place were dirty, the room floor was sticky, and the bathroom floor was awful with dog hair and grime. Shower pressure was almost nonexistent, and the toilet seat was so loose it felt like I might fall when I sat down. It smelled strongly of pot, and there was garbage scattered by the back exit with nobody from the staff picking it up. When I went to the desk for towels during the day, no one was there. I later found the staff outside smoking. I'd have tried another hotel, but they were all full. It was chilly, too, and the heater only blew cold air.

Clean rooms, a welcoming feel, and staff who clearly care about the place. Management has things organized and a sense of humor, and the team is genuinely kind and helpful from check-in through check-out. It's truly pet friendly too, with no judgment when the tails start wagging. I'd stay again, and so would my dog.

I've spent over two decades living and working on the road, and I've stayed at a lot of extended residential hotels. This one ranks in the 95th percentile. It's clean and quiet, with no riffraff, and the staff are amazing and as accommodating as they can be.

The manager was very friendly and came down from her room to let us in when we arrived at midnight. I wish I'd checked the reviews beforehand. Even though it shows up under Comfort Hotels, this is a long-term stay place, not a standard hotel. They may not provide things like bathroom glasses, shampoo, or even soap. There weren't any hangers, but there was no closet either. I can't believe someone said it had been remodeled. Everything in our room was old and worn, if not broken.
