Cle Elum Travelers Inn

A straightforward, privately run motel that worked well for our business trip. It'd be fine for a quick getaway too. The room had a mini fridge and microwave, along with USB charging plugs on the nightstand. Nothing fancy, but it did the job at a good price.

The owner was polite and very nice, and the winter rate was nicely discounted. The room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, and I'd happily stay again. It was small, though, and the heater pushed the curtain away from the window, making the room feel even tighter and the temperature hard to control.

The old-fashioned details really stuck with me. They still use paper check-ins and physical keys, and I wanted one of those old diamond room keychains. I haven't seen them in ages, and that nostalgia is part of what makes this place special. We reached town around 10:22 after being stuck at the pass for hours because of an accident. We were exhausted, but while we waited for the road to clear I found this gem for just 50 bucks. The woman at the counter was a delight, smiling warmly and making us feel at home. Sure, the rooms show some wear: the TV remote didn't work, the mattress squeaked, and the water pressure was nearly zero. But for that price, at that hour, with that hospitality, I'd call it one of the best hotels ever. It's a mom-and-pop place out in the middle of nowhere. It's sad that gems like this are disappearing because of the big chains. I need to remember to give places like this the respect they deserve. They're part of what made the great American road trip and kept the open-road dream alive.

We just needed a bed and shower, and this cheap little room had all we needed: two beds and a small shower area. It was worth it, and we have no complaints. The woman at the desk was super nice and everyone welcomed us warmly. There’s a covered, comfortable smoking deck with grills. It’s not a big fancy hotel, but the open-armed welcome was great. One of the owners, a man, was also sweet and welcoming when I saw him chatting casually with a tenant.
