The room was better than I expected, and it's a cute little town, but management and customer service were poor. There was hair left in the shower from the last guest, which made me wonder what else hadn't been cleaned. They provided shampoo and lotion, but no hand soap, body wash, or conditioner. The bathroom doorknob came off, too. They charged a $35 pet fee instead of the $20 listed online. I showed them the website still said $20 per stay, but they wouldn't honor it. We were also put in a non-pet-friendly room instead of the building with the dog run. The front desk guy was rude at check-in. A younger guy at checkout was more polite, though he didn't ask how the stay was.

I read a lot of negative reviews, but I had a different experience. The front desk was polite, patient, and helpful. My room was clean, didn't smell, and everything worked, including the decent Wi-Fi. It was well worth the price, and I'd recommend it. I've stayed at a four-star hotel in Polson, Montana that was far below the Stewart's standard and cost three times as much.

The bathroom was cold because there was an open gap in the window frame, and the place felt poorly maintained. Breakfast was stale. The waffle maker was the only good part; the biscuits were hard and the steamer items were lukewarm.

I picked this hotel because we had our dog with us. The room was larger than I expected, with a big TV and lots of channels, and there were plenty of towels. Having two sinks was handy, one in the bathroom and one outside it. The showerhead had several settings and felt a little low, though that worked for me since I'm shorter. I had some trouble flushing the toilet with the half buttons, but maybe I just needed to hold them down longer. The AC/fan was loud each time it started or stopped. The microwave and mini fridge screens were bright at night, and I wish they were somewhere else. The bathroom door was so light it wouldn't stay fully open, but at night that helped block sunlight from the bathroom window. I found a spider in the bed, though we didn't see other bugs. I didn't like the bed much because I could feel my husband move. At least it was a real king. The low pillows suited me. The fleece blanket and the other one, which looked like a tablecloth, felt unnecessary. I'd rather have a white comforter, even a thin one. I heard every time someone shut a door, and it sounded like people were slamming them constantly. Otherwise, I didn't hear plumbing, running water, or stomping from other rooms, which surprised me. Maybe there was nobody above us, though someone was next door. We arrived early and there weren't many cars in the parking lots. I forgot to take a picture of breakfast. It had cereal, hard-boiled eggs, sausages, biscuits, bread, bagels, little muffins, waffles you make yourself, apples, bananas, and an orange juice and lemonade machine. One of the eggs I had wasn't fully cooked, but the others were fine.

A cute, quaint hotel in Cle elum, and the room was spacious all around, even in the bathroom. The shower curtain needs changing, though. Any sign of mold or mildew freaks me out. I keep my own home scrubbed down so there's none around, and I expect the same when I stay at a hotel.
