Americas Best Value Inn Clear Lake

The location is handy, close to businesses and places to eat. My room was clean, in good shape, and really nice, and the service was respectful. Hands down the best motel I've stayed at.

The sheets were dirty, the comforter had cigarette burns and holes, and the hotel had a slight odor. Nobody even apologized about the sheets. The advertised continental breakfast amounted to sticky buns and toasted items. I'd only stay here as an absolute last resort, and I wouldn't recommend it.

Nothing fancy here, and the bedspreads and blankets could stand to be updated. The breakfast was a pretty basic hotel spread, with a waffle maker, hard-boiled eggs, and a toaster. Still, our rooms, hallways, and breakfast room were clean, the shower worked well, and both the desk and maid staff were helpful and pleasant. We stayed two nights for our annual family event in Clear Lake and would stay here again.

My husband left three days before the reservation ended, and the “manager” was extremely rude, called me names, and refused to refund the unused nights. We paid for a room someone else could use, so they essentially made double on it. I travel all year and sometimes have to check out early, and this has never been a problem elsewhere. The whole experience was a nightmare. I can't recommend this place. You're better off sleeping in your vehicle than giving these criminals your hard-earned money.
